Pensioner accused of driving at 111mph

A PENSIONER is to face trial at Kirkcudbright Sheriff Court accused of driving at speeds of up to 111mph on the A75 Gretna to Stranraer trunk road.

Alexander Muir, 75, from Blackcraig, Newton Stewart, is alleged to have driven dangerously on the road on 9 September last year.

Sheriff Mary Foran ordered Muir to stand trial on 10 May.
