Thousands of cyclists rode through the Capital to the Scottish Parliament to call for safer cycling facilities, in one of the biggest protests ever to arrive at Holyrood.

Police said 2500 people took part in Saturday’s Pedal on Parliament. Feeder rides from across the country converged on the Meadows, with cyclists lining the full length of Middle Meadow Walk and beyond ahead of the 3pm start. Participants included tandem riders and cycle polo players.
