Partner admits lying to police

THE partner of a man accused of attempting to murder a senior law official in Murrayfield has admitted lying to police about his whereabouts, a court has heard.

Officers visited the home of Mary Ann O’Neill in Pilton and asked if she knew the location of Robert Graham, who denies attacking Leslie Cumming in 2006. She told them she had no clue where he was, but admitted yesterday to the High Court in Edinburgh that she knew all along he was in Australia.

She blamed the “shock” of the police visit for her version of events. The trial continues.
