Parrot rescued after crashing into window in chase

AN escaped parrot is now in the care of a leading animal charity after crashing into a window in Falkirk while being chased by crows.

The fugitive parrot - a colourful conure now named Mango - was rescued by officers from the Scottish SPCA after he collided with the window of a house in Falkirk’s Fairhaven Terrace on Saturday.

He is now in the care of the charity’s Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

Robyn Gray, an SSPCA animal rescue officers said:” Poor Mango was trying to escape from crows when he crashed into the window. Thankfully, he didn’t sustain any injuries, although he was a bit stunned.

“With his bright feathers, Mango was an easy target for predators so we’re very glad he’s safe now.”

The SSPCA officer added: “The lady who found him had no trouble picking him up and containing him until I arrived. Mango is such a friendly and confident bird so I’m sure he has an owner who’s desperately worried about him.

“Hopefully someone will recognise him and come forward so we can return him home soon. If no one claims Mango, we’ll be looking to find him a loving new owner.”
