Parcel depot bomb scare

A PARCEL depot on the outskirts of the city was closed temporarily after a bomb scare.

Staff at UPS in South Gyle became alarmed when they discovered what they thought was a suspicious package at 6pm last night.

Police and bomb disposal experts attended and stopped vans coming in and out, before deciding it was a false alarm.

A police spokesman said: “They inspected the package, which was then proven to be safe. There are no suspicious circumstances.”
