Panda tartan is latest bear necessity . .

A SPECIAL tartan commissioned to mark the arrival of two pandas in the UK has been unveiled at Edinburgh Zoo – and attracted the eye of the animals that inspired it.

The zoo commissioned the tartan from local company Kinloch Anderson to mark the arrival of Tian Tian and Yang Guang, and as they unveiled the design, Tian Tian was obviously impressed as she awoke from a nap to take a look at the tartan, which was modelled by Kirsty Franey.

The tartan will be available at the zoo gift shop from early April.
