Pan fire hits family

A FAMILY have been treated in hospital after a chip pan fire in West Lothian.

Two children aged 12 and 13 and their parents were taken to St John’s Hospital in Livingston after a fire at the property in Whitburn around 11.20pm on Saturday night. They received treatment for smoke inhalation.

Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue said the cause of the blaze originated in a chip pan and had been extinguished by the time crews arrived.
