Pair attacked man with cricket stumps

TWO men took part in a vicious street attack in the Capital armed with cricket stumps.

Farhan Iqbal, 21, underwent emergency surgery to his head after developing a blood clot after the attack in Market Street on 1 January last year.

Advocate depute Shona Haldane told jurors at Edinburgh High Court yesterday that the cricket stumps were "potentially lethal weapons".
