Pair arrested after £10,000 drugs find

A MAN and a woman have been arrested and charged with drug offences after a police raid recovered £10,000 of amphetamine from a city home.

The 44-year-old man and 36-year-old woman were set to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today to face allegations under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Police carried out a search at a property in Restalrig Drive around 1:30pm on Wednesday and recovered a large quantity of amphetamine.

The raid is the latest part of a major assault on dozens of "low-level" drug dealers across the north of Edinburgh, known as Operation Adrenalin.

Approximately one kilo of the drug was seized with an estimated value of 10,000, along with over 300 in cash.

A police spokesman said: "Once again, intelligence has played a vital role in assisting us take control of dangerous drugs before they can circulate within our communities.

"We will continue to target the drug dealers who plague our communities and the success of our recent recoveries should send a clear message to drug dealers that the public are ready and willing to help us in our efforts."
