Owen to host Classic FM slot

Broadcaster and journalist Nicholas Owen has joined Classic FM to host a Saturday afternoon show.

Owen, who worked in newspapers before joining ITN and then BBC news, said he was "absolutely delighted".

He said: "I have had such a marvellous time with all sorts of broadcasting over the years. This is a new challenge and I can't wait to get started."

The Saturday afternoon show, which starts on January 8, will run from 12 noon to 3pm.

He joins another former ITN man, John Suchet, at the station.
