Orchestra and choir hit the notes at concert for Hospice

A COLLABORATION of harp orchestra and school choir will hit the high notes next month in a charity concert for St Columba's Hospice.

The Edinburgh branch of the Clarsach Society and 100 voices from George Watson's College Caritas Choir will combine to perform Harps of Gold, a festive recital with proceeds being donated to deserving causes.

During the Queens Hall concert, a prize draw will be held to win several generous Christmas hampers. Money generated from the raffle will be donated this year's chosen charity St Columba's Hospice.

The concert is expected to swell the charity's coffers to the tune of 1500, depending on audience numbers. Janette Bain, convenor of the Edinburgh Branch of the Clarsach Society, said: "This concert is always exceptionally well attended."

The annual concert is being held on Sunday, December 12 at 2.30pm. Tickets are available from the Queen's Hall Box office.
