Shale silence

Have your say

Suddenly UK media and energy experts are proclaiming the potential impact of shale on fuel prices, energy security and jobs and objectively discussing environmental concerns (your report, 28 June).

Despite being brought up near a huge shale field in West Lothian, which employed thousands (and gave birth to BP), there hasn’t been a peep from First Minister Alex Salmond, not even an “it’s Scotland’s shale” slogan. Too much of a climb down from the wind turbine high horse Alex?
