Sad neglect

Have your say

With an exhibition of the work of Edinburgh-born artist David Roberts now on, it is a matter of concern that the plaque on his childhood home in Stockbridge has been allowed to fall into a state of disrepair.

That plaque is the responsibility of those self-appointed protectors of Edinburgh’s historic landscape, the Cockburn Association.

Perhaps they should serve notice on themselves to have this blot on that landscape restored to a condition worthy of a man described as the greatest architectural painter out country has ever produced.
