Moral shortfall

Have your say

WITH regard to the reappointment of Vicky Pryce as an economic adviser to the Treasury, I am in agreement with the concept of rehabilitation of offenders. However, I am uncertain of her grasp of even basic economics.

The money and scarce resources spent by the police and justice system investigating and prosecuting Ms Pryce and Chris Huhne (also a qualified economist) is money not available to be spent on more useful activities, such as reducing gun crime or investigating people trafficking.

If they had both just admitted guilt earlier, hundreds of thousands of pounds would have been saved – as would we from being exposed to their whole domestic soap opera.
