I genuinely hoped that the one good thing that might emerge from the terrible 
atrocities in Paris recently would be a sea change in the relatively recent development of the notion that people somehow have a right to go through life without hearing or seeing things that offend them.

Unfortunately, only a few weeks later we have headlines in The Scotsman salivating about Rangers fans being in the spotlight for singing songs that offend some people.

I guess we aren’t all Charlie after all.
