Extra hour

Have your say

British Summer Time does not promise “an extra hour of daylight” (caption to your picture of the One O’Clock Gun’s clock, 28 March).

The hours of daylight are dependent only on the date (longer in summer than in winter).

All daylight saving does is shift an hour of daylight from the beginning of the day to the end of the day, so making evenings lighter longer.

It would make sense to do this all the year round; not just in summer.
