Cost of survival

Have your say

The discovery that climate change may have led to the collapse of civilisations more than 3,000 years ago (“New clues to why flourishing Bronze Age cultures collapsed”, 15 August) is a timely warning that the same could happen to our modern, technological civilisation. It will not survive in a global greenhouse causing inter alia a huge rise in sea level, drowning all the major coastal cities.

Attempts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are failing, leaving only one technological option: reducing solar heating by geo-engineering. It will be costly, but what price do we put on our survival?
