I was extremely angry and disappointed to read about the anti-English comments made to Michael Upton (Letters, 28 March).
That kind of appalling behaviour would not be tolerated in our SNP branch, which has in its membership a number of English folk who are very committed to the independence cause.
Indeed, during the referendum campaign one of the most lively and active groups was “English for Independence” who were much admired and respected and very much a part of the active campaigning and the social side of the hard work.
So, Mr Upton, don’t give up on Scotland: come and join the Forth branch of the SNP. You’ll be made very welcome.
