JIM MURPHY has announced his intention to run for Scottish Labour Party leader.

The MP for East Renfrewshire pledged to turnaround Labour’s fortunes in Scotland on the same day an Ipsos MORI poll showed the party could be down to just four Scottish seats at the next general election.

Murphy’s interview with Sky News also occurred a few hours before Anas Sarwar announced his resignation as deputy leader.
