EDINBURGH Castle has taken centre stage in a new TV advert promoting Scotland as the home of golf ahead of The Open Championship at Muirfield next week.
A soldier is seen driving golf balls off the landmark’s ramparts while the One o’Clock Gun is fired.
The £400,000 adverts are being run this week on NBC in the US and Sky Sports in the UK during the Scottish Open tournament, which is being held at Castle Stuart in Inverness.
Numb-ledon champ Andy’s painful return
UNTIL Sunday, tennis fans in Britain had suffered years in pain waiting for a home-grown Wimbledon champion.
But the joy experienced by Andy Murray has proved short lived.

Des on ball for big race
CAPITAL FM breakfast DJ Des Clarke has been limbering up for the Great Edinburgh Run 10k on Sunday with a little help from Livingston FC.
He joined up with the squad for pre-season training ahead of the race, in which he will raise funds for Help A Capital Child.
