Zoos have a big role to play in modern world

ONE of the most common images of zoos is that they are prisons for animals. This image, in my mind seems to have little evidence to back it up.

People should see a zoo as a place of knowledge where people can learn about animals they may not have even heard of.

How does one expect the younger generation to take an interest in trying to save animals which they only know as a long Latin name in a biology book?

Therefore, zoos should maintain a high standard of care (and try to grow) for the many animals they hold as they play an important role in life.
