Warming to fear

I have often wondered why fear came in for such a bad press during the referendum campaign and continues to do so in the aftermath.

I permitted myself a wry smile as I watched Nicola Sturgeon, one of the most vociferous critics of the so-called “Project Fear”, declare her candidacy for the leadership of the SNP.

I was remembering a quote attributed to her: “What drives me is the Scottish fear of failure.” Maybe she thinks fear isn’t such a bad thing after all!
