Vote to reverse years of neglect

JIM McColl explains (3 February) that “We have got a government responsible for economic policy whose focus is not growth in Scotland but rather London and the South East.” Over the years this neglect has increased as our basic interests have diverged. For instance, Birmingham to Leeds have also been neglected but only that part of Britain is being looked at for the next 20 years with the proposed high-speed rail.

However, we have a world-class “brand” image and not just for whisky. Having travelled through four out of the five continents, the faces of all I have contacted light up when I tell them I’m not from England but from Scotland!

Only a Yes vote will enable us to take advantage of that by being able to make our own national and international decisions.
