Vote conundrum

LABOUR leader Ed Miliband says he wants youth unemployment to be the priority, not constitutional change. In the same speech to his party’s conference, he attacked “old-fashioned Tory politics” for creating the economic difficulties that led to high youth unemployment.

Scotland has not voted for a Conservative government since 1959. The Conservatives have not even reached one-third of the vote since 1970 and, despite this, we have had 26 years of Conservative government since that year. By opposing Scottish independence, Labour is asking us to accept the imposition of the very policies it says lead to high youth unemployment.
