Unfit message

As A coach, athlete and former teacher, I applaud Scottish Government efforts to involve pupils in increased activities each week. However, the photograph of sports minister Shona Robison (your report, 30 March) taking “a break from playing badminton” does nothing to further the campaign on several levels.

First, her dress is not suitable, second, one could not play in high/stilleto heels and third, such shoes would be banned in a Sports Centre on account of the damage they would cause to the floor – usually very expensive wood.

I must ask – knowing from personal coaching experience, how difficult it is to keep girls interested – why there were no girls in the line-up?
