Trident dilemma

It seems a contradictory moral position to condemn Trident as an “inhuman destructive power” yet condone conventional weapons as the SNP government appears to do in its independence white paper.

No doubt the commitment to building up the armed forces is related directly to joining Nato.

Why has this got to be a precondition for the referendum vote instead of coming afterwards? Moreover a crucial constitutional issue as opposed to a manifesto one, is the decision to go to war.

Would an independent Scottish Government be constitutionally bound to seek a democratic decision from Holyrood?

Arguably membership of the Nato alliance limits severely the moral and democratic choices of any member country.
