Talk of the Town: Brace yourselves for a perfect smile

SINCE Holly Willoughby became the latest celeb to reveal she has had braces fitted to seek the perfect smile, the showbiz world has been awash with gossip as to which skilled gob doctor carried out the work on the This Morning presenter.

Well we can exclusively reveal that the cosmetic mastery was performed by Edinburgh's own Dr Biju Krishnan.

The Harley Street and Edinburgh Lubiju dental clinic founder used his skills to ensure that fans of the show wake up to Ms Willoughby's pearly whites like never before.

So pleased was she that she posted a picture of her braces on Twitter. Readers are reminded that braces might fix your wonky smile but they can't guarantee you Holly's curvy figure or silken hair.

The Hame front

THERE'S already LabourHome, LabourList and even Labour Uncut. But now Labour activists in Scotland pondering how the party can rebuild after its crushing defeat at last month's Holyrood elections have their very own online forum where they can share their thoughts - LabourHame.

Founded by Lothians Labour MSP Kez Dugdale and Westminster MP Tom Harris, it carries the strapline: "Where Scottish Labour can discuss the way forward without falling out. Mostly."

An impossible case

THE BBC adaptation of Kate Atkinson's Case Histories has shown Edinburgh off as a stunning backdrop, though the series hasn't exactly been a showcase for its people. Almost the entire central cast appears to have English accents, with the only Scots in Jackson Brodie's Edinburgh apparently being the thugs who leap out of shadowy corners brandishing baseball bats.

So in Monday's episode it was nice to see one nod to local authenticity: When one shady character was faced with the unravelling of his plot, we heard him leaving a voicemail that warned: "This could be a bigger debacle than the city's tram project". Even Jackson Brodie would struggle to solve that one.

Best feet forward

BEST of luck to three schools hoping to walk their way into the Guinness Book of World Records today.

Around 500 children from Prospect Bank, Hermitage Park and St Mary's (Leith) will be meeting this morning at Leith Links to take part in a road safety walk.

The schools will have independent witnesses present to verify the world record attempt for "the largest simultaneous walking bus in multiple locations". Across the UK an estimated 100,000 pupils are taking part.
