Luckily, although Mr Leslie seems unaware of the fact, there is no “No” campaign, but this is all part of the Nationalist negativity to which we are all inured.

Nonetheless, Mr Leslie does us all a service, however unwittingly.

He clarifies the main (perhaps one should say the sole) point upon which the No to the  UK campaign by the SNP can  settle.

It boils down to a simple point, which it thrusts again and again, with various elaborations to try to give it substance, while failing miserably. “Give us the money.”

Reiterating the flabby nonsense that typifies its negative campaign, for want of anything constructive to say, Mr Leslie simply denies anything constructive about government policy. There is nothing done for Scotland; there is no credible defence policy for Scotland; Britain does not represent Scotland’s interests at “the top table” and other, empty jibes.

“Top table” was at school and, it appears that the SNP has not progressed beyond that level.

Of course, when these hollow phrases are taken apart, what they mean is that the  government is not doing what the SNP wants – whatever that may be.

Unfortunately, such is the state of confusion in its ranks that its members themselves cannot elucidate.

SNP defence policy? What defence policy? Question/s on a referendum – one/two? Who knows? In the euro/pound? Search me. United Kingdom/United kingdoms? Eh?  Keep EastEnders? Who cares?

Surely, it is now about time that the SNP and its more vocal supporters observed that not only are they cutting off their noses to spite their faces, because only the most vacuous elector would believe their utter waffle and borrowed polices (“Thank you, CND!”).

These simply turn off voters who actually think occasionally. They also confirm that empty vessels make most noise.
