My figure of more than 830,000 came from the official General Register Office for Scotland Statistics. In fact, the exact figure is 835,738.
As for his suggestion that a significant amount of Yes Scotland’s money may have come from the 10 per cent of the Scottish population who are English, all I can say is that I have yet to encounter a single person among the 460,000 born elsewhere in the UK and now living in Scotland who supports independence.
Indeed, all those I know are steadfast in recognising the many benefits of remaining part of the Union.
