Stats not the truth
It’s Tim Jackson who should delve a little deeper in the statistics he quotes (Letters, 2 May). He says the official General Register Office for Scotland Statistics show that there are 853,738 Scots living elsewhere in the United Kingdom.
The figures refer to people born in Scotland and often relate to people who have left the country decades ago. They have limited relevance to the referendum debate today.
He also should try venturing out a little more. I can tell Mr Jackson that of the English-born folk I know, the great majority intend to vote yes.
