State of emergency

THE decision to form one police service for all Scotland was correct and Police Scotland has had a relatively successful start, but it has failed to convince the people of Scotland that their procedures in matters of call handling, armed police and stop-and-search were sufficiently well thought out to maintain public confidence.

Alarm bells should be ringing in Holyrood as we see the problems with Police Scotland adding to the current crisis in both NHS and Scottish education as a direct result of the SNP administration’s obsession with the independence issue resulting in a significant neglect of its control over essential services.
