Science of hope

We RECENTLY visited Glasgow Science Centre, enjoying a new show at the planetarium. While there, I noticed a quote from that great Englishman Sir Winston Churchill, who said: “Of all the small nations of the world, perhaps only the ancient Greeks surpass the Scots in their contribution to mankind.”

There is, of course, Dr Samuel Johnson’s view that “the noblest prospect which a Scotsman ever sees is the high road which leads him to England”. I can think of a few that applies to.

Which do you believe – the message of hope or despair?
