The right figures

In his letter (5 June) Douglas Turner states that my criticism of Derrick McClure’s arithmetic has the whiff of desperation about it. In fact, it wasn’t a criticism; it was a correction of Mr McClure’s statement that more people had voted for the SNP than for the other parties in the 2011 
election. I merely provided the correct figures, and as Mr Turner’s letter confirms that fact I’m not sure what his point is.

He asks if I would like to inform readers of the number of parties taking part in the election. I’m not sure why, but if he wants to find out, the details are readily available.
