Question Time

Lesley Riddoch’s article (4 June) on the BBC’s coverage of Scottish politics is timely as the weekend TV listings announced that Thursday’s Question Time from Inverness will have two right-wing Conservatives on the panel, but no representative from the SNP, which has more UK parliamentarians than the Lib Dems.

Is this meant to be representative of Scottish politics, or will no “parochial” Scottish questions be accepted and the unionist panellists go unchallenged if they talk about “the strength of the UK”?

This does not bode well for balanced coverage of the independence debate.
