PR problems

Those advocates of pure proportional representation for the UK should bear in mind that, in the 2009 European election, UKIP achieved 16.5 per cent and the BNP 6.2 per cent, against 15.7 per cent for Labour and 13.7 per cent for the Liberal Democrats. While I would have no problem in there being 100 UKIP MPs, would they really want 40 BNP MPs, possibly holding the balance of power?
