Poor dress sense

WITH reference to Fiona
McCade’s column (Perspective,
5 December) on women feeling under pressure to force themselves into clothes that are too small for them, I did the following as a teenage size 14 (and a bit) when it was cool to be size 10:

n buy a size 10 pair of jeans in the Oxfam shop

n cut out the label

n cut out size 14 label from my jeans

n sew in the size 10 one.

Nowadays, shops just have “vanity sizing” – ie a size 10 is really a size 14.
