Andrew MacGregor (Letters, 6 February) is spot on with his observations about the skewed priorities of Aberdeen City Council and its apparent determination to allow the divisive City Gardens Project to progress.

However, many Aberdonians shall not be surprised by its stance as there is a growing belief that, apart from those councillors who have been against the destruction of Union Terrace Gardens from the very outset, Aberdeen City Council is “in the hip pooch” of big business in the city.
