Plan B for buses

What will happen to a global corporation like First Group were there to be a Yes vote (Business, 17 July)?

One small shareholder addressed this question to the board at the end of the AGM.

Seemingly, from the response of the chairman, the elephant in the room – uncertainty – wasn’t of concern.

Would, for example, First Group’s headquarters stay in Aberdeen or go to where its main business is done?

Would the present system of free bus travel for the elderly continue if Scotland became independent?

Certainly a generous concessionary fares scheme would continue only with subsidies from an independent Scottish state.

Isn’t there uncertainty surrounding the future Scottish Government policy on free bus travel for the elderly?

Arguably the big companies that dominate bus travel should have a plan B for a Yes vote.
