People of Scotland

Ray Newton (Letters, 23 April) claims that the SNP and Greens have replaced Labour as the party of the people of Scotland.

I’m very puzzled. Who are these legendary “people of Scotland”? Am I one, for instance? I consider myself entirely Scottish but never in a million years would I vote for any of the above parties. So what am I or who am I or even where am I?

Perhaps our First Minister can enlighten me since she continues to use this hackneyed phrase in her many verbal onslaughts.
