Party address

Alexander MacKay (Letters, 22 April) writes about the supposedly pejorative use of the term "London-based parties". Are the three Unionist parties based in London? Are their headquarters there? If so then it has to be said they are London-based.

I have a question. Does Mr McKay consider "separatist" to be potentially pejorative, implying a tartan curtain on the Tweed?

Does he consider the phrase "tearing Scotland out of the UK" to be pejorative? I would suggest that sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

None of what are referred to by the media as the big three parties is Scottish-based. They have branch offices here, but we do have several Scottish-based parties, of which the SNP is by far the largest.
