Par for the course

Whilst your map highlighting public transport options to the Ryder Cup (25 March) may not be intended to be to Ordnance Survey standards, at least it could have shown the Stirling-Alloa line (re-opened in 2008) and would have looked a lot more ­acceptable without the term “train line” being used in the key.

We have seen the use of the awful “train station” creep into Scotsman reports of late. Please can we have less of the dumbed-down English.
