JACKSON Carlaw MSP complained about a line in the comments book of the Gaza Now exhibition at the Scottish Parliament (your report, 13 January).

The exhibition of photographs of Gaza, taken last spring on an aid delivery visit by Edinburgh Direct Aid and at the time of the assault on Gaza last year, was shown first in the Edinburgh Episcopal Cathedral, then in Glasgow Central Mosque and in the Scottish Parliament. At each the visitors' book was left open for comments. Among the many restrained, dignified and sad remarks was one calling for Israel to be "wiped from the earth", a sentiment very different to those of others who left comments, and foreign to the thinking of those who organised or supported the aid delivery. While remarks in a visitor book should not be censored, we will remove this one before showing the exhibition again.
