As A regular watcher of Politics Scotland, featuring First Minister’s Questions, I was once again angered and dismayed by Alex Salmond’s total refusal to answer questions put to him by Johann Lamont and Ruth Davidson, leaders of the opposition parties.

Both leaders asked for details about his use of public monies to fund legal challenges to his administration yet the First Minister chose to ignore their requests. His acolytes and backbenchers may find it all so amusing but voters in the country, who, incidentally, they are accountable to, are not amused.

Whenever he is faced with difficult questions such as Scotland’s involvement with Nato or the future of sterling, he opts to evade the questions. Any right thinking person will shudder at the thought of the smug First Minister leading this noble country towards independence.

pressure grows on the First Minister to reveal the legal advice that he has sought regarding an independent Scotland’s automatic right to EU membership, but he remains silent, claiming that he is bound by the ministerial code.

This in itself answers the question, for surely if Mr Salmond had received information that was supportive to his argument, he would be shouting it
from the rooftops, ministerial code or no.
