Norwegian good

I suspect that Barry Lees (Letters, 11 January) knows why wind power suits the North-west of Denmark, and it has nothing to with its premier position for strong winds. Denmark has high-tension electrical connections with Norway and Sweden and can buy in electricity when needed while "balancing" her intermittent system with exports when possible.

Scotland has a half high-tension connection with Ireland and a whole one with England, ostensibly to export electricity.

In its early days the SNP was "interested" in considering a high-tension connection with its utopia, Norway. However, it does not seem to have followed up the initial idea. Would this be a better investment than Beauly-Denny?
