NHS bullying

Your article about the report that was critical of the culture of bullying in NHS Lothian (12 May) provides particularly salutary reading for me.

I worked as a senior G Grade charge nurse for NHS Lothian up until my stroke three years ago. For many years I had to work with the equivalent of up to seven full-time staff nurse posts vacant on a very busy mixed-sex ward for patients with dementia.

So the culture of bullying in NHS Lothian was not restricted to board level, but trickled down to the front line of patient care. Was my subarrachnoid haemorrhage caused by this systematic management neglect? Who knows?
