Mobile ban

The police are quite right to pursue drink drivers and support lowering the drink-driving levels to make our roads safer but it seems that their efforts are being diluted and diverted from other dangerous road users.

Every day I see dangerous driving offences being committed by drivers intent on using their mobile phones and even texting while driving, not to mention the many other examples of dangerous driving.

It has been established that mobile-phone use while driving can be as dangerous as drink-driving, so it is perhaps time for 12-month bans to accompany a fine for such offenders.
