Mirrored moves

In recommending the new legislation on sectarian behaviour at football matches, Roseanna Cunningham was reported to have said that “much of what we see at football celebrates nothing more than hate and division and is done to antagonise and provoke old wounds. That is unacceptable and that must stop.” (your report, 15 December).

Quite a few politicians have made a career out of such attitudes in Scottish politics. Are they likely to change and set an example?
