Marx of time

In response to Brian Monteith (Perspective, 7 October), it is not necessary to debate Marxism.

What is necessary is to recognise its irrational nature and that it is totalitarian, by definition.

Marxism denies that man has even the capacity for reason and holds that his mind is determined by the economic circumstances of his birth.

Given that man has only two ways of dealing with his fellow man, reason or brute force, Marxism makes the constant use of brute force necessary.
