Making a noise

Further on the unwanted noise in shops (Letters, 26 February), a friend was at a big department store at the weekend and the volume of the head-banging muzak was terrible. She does not usually complain, but did comment about it to the person serving her.

The attendant agreed, and said they all hated the constant loop of muzak, and had to listen to it all day, every day. They had complained, but said the managers “don’t listen to them”. Who are these people who force this noise on others? I bet you they don’t have it in their office. Shop at John Lewis and Primark, I say.
