Literal thinking

Nominations for this year’s most irritating use (or misuse) of words and phrases are pouring in (not literally…) “Literally” used as a term of emphasis is again taking the lead championed by TV chef Jamie Oliver.

“Take care”, “enjoy” and “no problem” are close runners up but “fingers crossed” seems to be losing ground again. At the end of the day, are there any more going forward?
